Last April we decided to clear the bottom area of our right border as it was so invaded with grass and weeds. We went for a ‘municipal’ style – with groups of three plants. Over winter some died – so we have repositioned the Robinia Red Robin, which will need at least one or two re-siting later as they can grow to quite a size. We plan to regularly trim them to make them dense and bushy – I’ll post a photo of my neighbour Clare’s in their front garden as it is a stunner (with her permission, of course, – plants are like our children after all!).
